September has entered the last quarter of the year. Looking back at the paper industry this year, there have been many fluctuations in the epidemic. In the second half of the year, with the arrival of more holidays, the demand for the paper industry has also increased a lot. At the same time, the policy has also increased restrictions on packaging products, reducing the luxury packaging of merchants for increased profits, and returning to the real demand for products.
1.Transitional packaging that is strictly prohibited
In order to save resources, protect the environment, and protect the rights and interests of consumers, the National Standard No. 1 to amend the regulations on moon cakes and rice dumplings will come into effect on August 15, 2022. The "Standard"'s "downsizing" of moon cake packaging is mainly reflected in four aspects. One is to limit the number of packaging layers, requiring that the number of packaging layers for moon cakes should not exceed three layers at most; Avoid "big cakes and small cakes"; the third is to reduce packaging costs. For mooncakes with a sales price of more than 100 yuan, the packaging cost will be reduced from 20% to 15% of the sales price. For mooncakes with a sales price of less than 100 yuan, The proportion of packaging cost remains unchanged at 20%. At the same time, it is required that the packaging materials shall not use precious metals and mahogany materials; fourth, the requirements for mixed packaging are strict, and mooncakes should not be mixed with other products. After all, luxury packaging is a waste of resources, and more should be returned to environmental protection and degradable packaging, which is conducive to ecological protection and energy saving. Stone paper can replace many packaging products made of corrugated paper and whiteboard paper, which can also promote the diversification of the industry.

2.European paper production cuts, domestic paper exports are expected to rebound
In August, each packaging factory in Germany announced that it would cut the purchase of recycled paper by 20,000 to 50,000 tons, nearly 15% less than normal. In addition, some paper mills have advanced or extended the original inspection and shutdown period. The production reduction is not only happening in Germany, Europe's leading corrugated packaging giant Smurfit Kappa also announced a production cut of about 30,000 to 50,000 tons in August. In recent years, more than a dozen paper manufacturers in Europe have announced their withdrawal or relocation, and 6 million tons of paper production capacity has disappeared. It is expected that the domestic paper supply gap in Europe will likely continue. However, due to the fall in domestic paper prices in August and the various influences of logistics problems, the domestic paper export volume in August may have a slight correction. However, with the recovery of domestic paper prices and the supply gap in the European market, it is expected that domestic paper exports are expected to return to the previous high level in September and October, thereby easing the pressure on supply and demand in the domestic market. The price of white cardboard has also rebounded from the previous low of about 5,000 yuan / ton. The subsequent Double Eleven and Spring Festival are also peak consumption seasons, and domestic demand is also expected to usher in a rebound. It is expected that domestic paper prices are expected to usher in a wave of price increases as domestic and overseas demand continue to grow month-on-month.
